Spring / Cold :(
Achoo!!
Oh good ... here it is ... my Spring cold has arrived!
Seems like I got a little bit excited about the change in weather - jumped the gun and went out to spend an evening drinking wine in front of my new urban fire pit, chiminea, round wood burning metal ring thing. Now I feel a lot like .... oh ... what’s that word I’m searching for?
Anyway ... I’ll just go ahead and say it so mom doesn’t have to ... She told me so. That’s what I get for living on the edge (even though I took all the precautions and wore a hat, gloves, sweater and my winter boots).
If any of you are feeling the same - swing by the shop where I have the heat cranked up to 82, some tea in the microwave and plenty of fun chairs to test out while we patiently await the passage of March.
Happy weekend to all!

P.S. ... On a happy note - Theresa Johnson was the lucky winner of our Shamrock Auction. She retrieved it on Thursday and drove it over to her mother as a little pick me up Spring gift. We were able to donate $70.00 and some pet food to Animeals! Thank you for participating!
Here are some fun spring chairs!

Dressing Lamps!
“Does this shade make me look fat?” ... asks my pretty little milk glass lamp.
Shhhhh! Just put it on, sit there and look nice, says I.
Why is it that so many lamps show up at my doorstep with battered, broken, soiled and torn shades ... and sometimes, with no shades at all? I’ve decided that if nothing else, my purpose in life is to rescue lamps.
Spring seems to be a particularly busy season in the lamp rescue division so I’ve kind of had to pull out my creative stops and come up with all kinds of shade solutions. Through the course of it all, I think I’ve hit on some pretty clever combos. Here, I blend milk glass with a colorful red poka-dot for a whimsical spring look. In my second example, I’ve combined a heavy black shade with a delicate cut crystal base which screams “juxtaposition”.
As with all rescue agencies, I am wide open to lamp shade consignment which allows me to better dress my little charges. I’m always trying to place these misfits into their forever homes, so swing by and find one you might want to call your forever lamp!

Ides of March
March ...
"Beware the Ides of March" ...
I’ve heard this saying forever, but never really figured out what the heck
the Ides of March were and I have no idea why we should beware of them, so I
Wikipedia’d the whole concept. It turns out we aren’t missing much. It’s
just a fancy name for March 15th --- the day Julius Ceasar was assassinated
a very long time ago. Apparently, in a Shakespeare play, Julius was
forewarned - “beware the Ides of March” and the term just stuck.
No decorations, no parades, no rituals or time off from work ... I guess we
could celebrate by eating Chicken Ceasars for lunch, but that’s about all I
can come up with for now.
Since I don’t have to worry about March Ides anymore, I’ve decided to move
some stuff around in my shop to make room for my perfect St. Patty’s display
idea. Out of the green space rolled the little maple vanity (squeek! squeek!
squeek!), and in it’s place ... this copper platter with our auction
Shamrock (remember from last week?). I think it is the perfect combination
to celebrate St. Patty’s day, green beer, pasties and Butte! Now THERE’s a
holiday!
Only 12 days left to swing by and place your bid on this lovely Shamrock.
All proceeds go to Animeals.
